  • How many sessions will I have?
That depends on your individual needs. I operate on an open contract and cannot predict the length of time we will work together. We will work as a team and reflect regularly on where you are in your journey. Once you feel confident in your progress and the goals you've reached, we'll review our work and decide together on an appropriate time to bring our time together to a close.
  • How frequent are sessions?
You have the option of weekly or bi-weekly sessions. I usually recommend meeting weekly at first. This makes it easier for us to discern your needs, set goals, track progress and make any needed adjustments to your sessions. I want our time together to be accessible and of the highest benefit to you - please let me know if you wish to alter the frequency of your sessions. Depending on your concerns, I may still suggest weekly sessions for time being. Ultimately, though, the decision is yours.
  • Are your sessions AAC friendly?
Yes. Please utilize your AAC devices and feel free to use the chat box function on zoom, too.
  • Do you offer in-person sessions?
No, not currently. I host sessions virtually using Google Meet.
  • Do you accept clients outside of the UK?
    Yes!
  • Can I contact you between sessions?
Working in line with ethical guidelines, I ask that you refrain from contacting me between sessions unless you need to inform me of a cancellation/reschedule a booking. This allows us to ensure professional boundaries are upheld.
  • Can I follow your Instagram page?
Although you may follow my Instagram page, I encourage you to exercise caution when interacting with it - if you are a past or current client, please be aware that engaging with my page may risk breaching your own confidentiality. My social media content is intended for educational and marketing purposes only. It is not a substitute for mental health support. Additionally, I ensure that all shared information is something I am comfortable with clients knowing. Current clients should contact me via email rather than Instagram messages to ensure your information remains protected.
  • What are your working hours?
My working hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • Do you offer counselling for all age groups?
My practice is dedicated to working with adults (18+). If you're looking for support for a younger individual, I’d be happy to provide referrals to professionals who specialise in working with children or teens.
  • Is counselling confidential?
Yes, everything discussed in sessions is confidential, except in cases where there is a legal or ethical obligation to break confidentiality, such as if there is a risk of harm.
  • I’ve had bad experiences with counselling before. How will this be different?
Many neurodivergent individuals have felt misunderstood in therapy. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, respected, understood and not pressured to conform to neurotypical expectations.
  • I struggle with starting new things. What if I don’t know what to talk about in a session?
That’s completely okay! We can start at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I can also provide prompts or guide the conversation in a way that makes it easier to open up.
  • I have trouble remembering what we talked about after sessions. Can you help with that?
Yes! I can provide session summaries or key takeaways if that would be helpful.
  • I get overwhelmed by too much information. Will sessions be structured?
We can structure sessions in a way that works best for you. Some clients prefer a clear plan, while others prefer open-ended conversations. Let me know what makes counselling feel most accessible for you!
  • I have a special interest or hyperfixation. Can we incorporate it into therapy?
Definitely! Special interests can be a great tool for self-expression, motivation, and processing emotions. I’m happy to integrate them into our sessions in a way that feels meaningful to you.
  • Can counselling help me process my Autism/ADHD diagnosis?
Yes! Whether you’ve been diagnosed recently or long ago, we can explore what it means for you, how it impacts different areas of your life, and ways to embrace your neurodivergence.
  • I’ve been masking for years. How do I figure out who I really am?
Counselling can help you reconnect with your true self in a safe, gradual way. We can explore your values, preferences, and authentic ways of being that may have been buried under years of masking.
